mealplanafterbariatricsurgery.jpgAfter having Bariatric Surgery to be fitted with a gastric band and still not losing any weight I had given up.

I had tried everything I thought and nothing helped, I spent thousands to have the Gastric band as I was desperate to lose weight and thought Gastric band surgery was a sure thing, it wasn't.  After 4 years with it and no weight loss I had given up on life as I had no quality of life at 5′3 and a little over 300 pounds.

My blood pressure was out of control although I was on 4 BP medications, I had high cholesterol, suffered from depression and constant headaches, my back, knees, and hips hurt constantly. I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything, life was passing me by.

Then I heard about someone who had lost 100lbs with the Herbalife diet. I didn't know what it was but that same day I found out and ordered the products. The very first day on the products I just felt better, for starters I didn't fall asleep that afternoon. I used to fall asleep every afternoon and I haven't done that since starting Herbalife. I didn't feel hungry and what I just couldn't believe was the cravings went away. I was a junk food aholic and I no longer crave junk food!

meal-plans-after-bariatric-sugery.jpgI lost about 80 pounds in 10 months and never felt deprived or like I was on a diet. I've gone from a size 28/26 to an 18/16. Even when it seems I haven't lost weight my body is still shrinking!

My cholesterol is normal and I no longer take meds for it, I am down to 1 BP medication from 4 and my BP is consistent at 110/80, headaches are rare and joint pain has all but disappeared ! I feel like living again! My body has never been so well nourished and the best part is it has been so easy!

I take my vitamins and drink nutritional shakes and I have a lovely meal every day and snacks in between and I've lost weight consistently! The Lapband does not take away the cravings and that is a huge part of the battle, Herbalife does!

Anyone considering surgery or waiting to have surgery, I would urge you to try Herbalife before going under the knife and spending thousands because it is not a guarantee and I know I am not the only person it hasn't worked for as I met a lovely lady last week who also had the Gastric band with no results and was now losing weight with Herbalife !

I use the ShapeWorks QuickStart and I also take Thermo Complete and drink the Thermojetic Herbal Beverage.

I still have weight to lose, I am a work in progress but "progress" is the key word! I am making great progress and I have my life back

arriba-franchise.jpgWhat is a Weight Loss Challenge?

The WLC is a 1 hour per week, 12-week program where a Wellness Coach will guide you as part of a small, friendly group of people (10-25 usually) towards your weight loss goals.

In the process we will improve your overall feeling of vitality and wellbeing in a fun club atmosphere where you will feel at ease. Each week there will be a small prize for the "Biggest Losers" (on a % lost basis) to keep everything motivated and interesting, and at the end there will be a cash prize for the "Biggest Losers"

Full Body Analysis

At Arriba! Wales we do not just focus on what the scales say. Each week members receive a full body analysis (don't worry, it takes a few seconds and you don't need to get undressed!) which allows us to monitor, amongst other things: Weight, Body Fat % , Hydration Levels,
Muscle Mass, Bone Mass, Metabolic Rate, Metabolic Age and Visceral (Internal) Fat Levels

Education For Long Term Weight Management

Arriba! do not promote quick fix 'fad' dieting. Our mission is to provide easy to understand information that help individuals make better choices without depriving themselves of the things they enjoy. This approach ensures our members improve their daily habits and lose weight safely, naturally and in a fashion that is sustainable and proven to ensure that the weight stays off for good.

During the 12-weeks you will learn:

How to understand food labelling
How to choose the healthy option when you go out for dinner
How to detox your system and keep it clean
Ways to alleviate stress through good nutrition
How to slow down the ageing process
The connection between good nutrition and a healthy heart
What type and how much exercise is right for you personally

Cash prizes

Participants in each challenge pay a participation fee, which covers attending the classes and their contribution to the prize fund.

At the end of the challenge the prize fund is split between the three participants who have lost the most weight. Based on 30 participants this would be as follows:

1st place: £300
2nd place: £200
3rd place: £100

Bathroom  scales are not usually the best way to measure your progress on a weight loss programme as they don't take into account your body's composition. This is what your body is made up of, how much fat you have relative to lean tissue. By figuring out your body fat percentage you can get a better look at how your body is composed and how "healthy" you are.

Many slimming clubs only measure weight..

Depending on your age, sex and how active you are, the level of your body fat percentage will vary. Its a measurement of the amount of your total body mass that fat, as opposed to lean body mass (muscle, bones, organs, tissues, blood, and anything else). So, for example, if you weigh 200 pounds and you have 30% body fat, this means that your body contains 60 pounds of fat and 140 pounds of lean body mass.

A measurement of ones body fat percentage is a more accurate guage of your excess body weight than your BMI( body mass index), as BMI does not take into account ones body frame size, nor does it account for the amount of muscle mass a person has. However, body fat percentage is not as popular as BMI's because the skills and technology needed to measure body fat percentage are not readily available.

Our Body Composition Test includes body fat%, visceral fat %, muscle mass, basal metabolic rate, hydration, physique rating, bone mass also includes a metabolic age test  which compares your actual age with your Basal Metabolic Age. If your metabolic age is higher than your actual age, it is an indication that you need to improve your metabolic rate. Increased exercise will build healthy muscle tissue, thats work with weights not only cardio work, togther with feeding your muscles with the right amount of protein so that they function as fat furnaces. And avoiding skipping meals which has the effect of slowing your metabolism down. All these actions will improve your metabolic age.

Measuring changes in body fat percentage, rather than just measuring changes in weight, can be very motivational when you're dieting.

Whats up and whats down?

If you are looking to lose weight and change your shape then you are looking for bodyfat%, visceral fat, metabolic age to fall and weight of course. And for your BMR and % body water and muscle mass to improve. If one week weight your remains static due to lean muscle gain, then you will still be able to review your progress with this additional data.
